Rudy's medals are for love

I think that Rudy's medals are for a number of things. The first, and obviously, is to prove he can be Jesse Owens. Another, again, Rudy says this, is to rub it in Franz Deutschers face. The last, was for love. Rudy has been endlessly trying to get a kiss from Liesel, and he thinks that this will finally get it. Even at the end of Rudy's races, he tries to tell Liesel that his false starts were on purpose. The big thing though, is that he left his medals with Liesel. Rudy's medals obviously meant a lot to him, as I said before, and he left them with Liesel. The only reason he would do this is for love, because he wants a kiss, and he thinks leaving the medals with Liesel would make her love him, or at least give him a kiss for leaving them.
