Just thinking...

I was watching an ad on TV when something struck me: why do the people in TBT, with all their suffering and pain, continue to live? What do they live for each day? With what little they have, why does facing another day and its perils seem worthwhile? I understand the reasons are entirely unique to each character, but share your ideas, whether they are directed to a specific character or a generalization is what you would like to contribute.
